Certain tests require a written and signed consent from the patient or his/her guardian (in the case of minor patients). The form will thus be filled in and signed in the following situations:
– molecular study of blood DNA to confirm or rule out the diagnosis of a genetic disease or to investigate the risk factors,
– chromosome study using a blood sample with cytogenetic or molecular cytogenetic techniques,
– for research purposes.
The consent forms for genetic studies will be those provided by the contracting laboratory since they will be carrying out the analyses.
These forms are in the Appendix of this document.
If tests such as HIV screening are requested by the patient, pre-test counseling will be required. The counseling will then be provided by a trained employee with the aim of informing the patient on the disease, its management, etc.
